How South Carolina Timeshare Buyers Get Drawn In

With its beautiful beaches, world-class golf courses, and coastal resorts, South Carolina is a prime target for aggressive timeshare sales. Developers and sales teams use attractive incentives to entice vacationers into attending high-pressure sales presentations. Common tactics include:

Discounted Beachfront Stays:

Visitors are often offered low-cost stays in Myrtle Beach or Hilton Head resorts in exchange for attending a timeshare presentation.

Golf and Spa Packages:

Complimentary rounds of golf or luxurious spa treatments at renowned resorts make these intriguing offers difficult to resist.

Exclusive Attraction Tickets:

Free or discounted tickets to local attractions, dinner cruises, or entertainment shows are often used to lure potential buyers.

While these incentives sound appealing, they often lead to long-term financial commitments that aren’t fully explained. If you’re ready to move on from your South Carolina timeshare, VOC can deliver tried-and-true solutions for a stress-free exit.

South Carolina’s Rescission Period

South Carolina law provides a rescission period that allows timeshare buyers to cancel their contract without penalty if they act quickly. This cooling-off period is designed to protect consumers from high-pressure sales tactics. In South Carolina, buyers have five calendar days after signing a timeshare contract to cancel it. According to the South Carolina Code of Laws, Section 27-32-40, all timeshare contracts must include the following notification:

YOU MAY CANCEL THIS CONTRACT WITHOUT PENALTY OR OBLIGATION WITHIN FIVE DAYS AFTER THE DATE YOU SIGN THIS CONTRACT, NOT INCLUDING SUNDAY IF THAT IS THE FIFTH DAY, OR THE DATE YOU RECEIVE THE DISCLOSURE STATEMENT PURSUANT TO SECTION 27-32-100, WHICHEVER OCCURS LATER. IF YOU DECIDE TO CANCEL, YOU MUST NOTIFY THE SELLER IN WRITING OF YOUR INTENT TO CANCEL BY SENDING NOTICE BY CERTIFIED MAIL, RETURN RECEIPT REQUESTED, OR BY ANOTHER VERIFIABLE MEANS, TO (NAME OF SELLER) AT (SELLER’S ADDRESS).
